What Tickster does

Tickster is a browser synth, sequencer, and artist community. Public live and saved performances contain playable project settings and sequences, and may reference uploaded MP3 audio. Public means other visitors can view or copy the information.

Information we handle

• Artist username, bio, avatar/background images, public donation link, performance names, JSON projects, uploaded MP3 audio, duration, and sample-sharing choices.
• Artist follows and follower totals, likes, comments, accepted/pending battle information, timestamps, and browser identifiers supporting those features.
• Artist ownership keys held in your browser and verified on our server. Keep these private; they authorize editing your account.
• If you opt in: private project/settings backups, browser backup files, and audience/play-count identifiers.
• Network information that our hosting provider may log, including IP addresses, request URLs, time, and browser information. Hosting logs and their retention must be confirmed by the operator.
• Information you provide in privacy, support, or copyright correspondence.

Purposes and legal bases

Where GDPR applies, delivering requested artist, publishing, commenting, and backup features relies on steps to enter or perform our service contract, as appropriate. Optional browser storage and audience measurement use your choices and consent where required. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate security, abuse prevention, and administration, subject to your rights; required records may be retained for legal obligations. A legal basis is assessed for each activity, not selected simply because you visited a page. The operator must document its legitimate-interest assessment and applicable retention schedule.

Public content and private information

Your profile, published performances, comments, likes/counts, and relevant battle information can be visible to others. Private backup files are available through your artist edit key; do not share that key. Never put sensitive personal information in public content. No use of your uploads for AI training is authorized by these terms.

Remix credits and planned similarity analysis

Published remix projects may contain source artist identifiers, source titles, performance links and remix lineage; those credits can be public. We plan, but have not implemented, a similarity scanner comparing public musical content and project structure, such as notes, timing, tempo, settings and audio characteristics, to support attribution and investigate disguised copies. Private backups are excluded from this proposed scanning. Before introducing it, we will explain the actual data collected, any audio-derived signatures and similarity scores, recipients or processors, retention periods, applicable legal basis and review/objection routes. Similarity alone will not be treated as proof of infringement. Automated account sanctions are not introduced by this notice. Contact the operator to dispute a credit or request human review. The remix license is in the Terms; this privacy notice does not grant copyright permission.

Storage and choices

Essential storage remembers requested artist ownership and social actions. Optional backups and audience counting are off until you allow them. See Storage details and Privacy settings. MIDI access is requested only when you select Connect MIDI; permission can be revoked through your browser. Tickster does not request camera, microphone, or precise-location access.

Recipients and international transfers

Hosting provider: . Hosting location: . PayPal processes donations on its own website under its own notices; Tickster does not collect card details. Public content is accessible internationally. The operator must verify processor agreements, actual hosting/backups locations, and any required transfer safeguards before serving affected users. We do not sell personal information or provide it for cross-context behavioral advertising in this implementation.

Retention

Published performances and comments stay available until removed under the service rules or a valid rights request. Your edit key and local projects remain in your browser until you clear them. Optional audience cookies last up to one year; active presence expires after 60 seconds. Recent per-browser play records support deduplication; aggregate counts do not identify visitors by themselves. Live snapshot files are cleaned up during subsequent live API requests; saved projects remain separate. Deleted-song files currently enter a private recovery folder rather than immediate permanent erasure. Private server backups remain until removed. The operator must set and enforce periods for inactive accounts, server backups, recovery files, correspondence, and hosting logs; withdrawing consent does not itself erase existing files.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time through Privacy settings, without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may complain to your local supervisory authority where applicable. Your data provides an authenticated artist-data export and contact instructions. Requests require proportionate verification and are subject to lawful exceptions; other people’s data is not included simply because it is on the same session. We normally respond within the applicable legal period, including one month under GDPR, with permitted extensions explained when needed.

Children and security

Tickster is intended for adults 18 and older under these draft terms. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children. A stated age restriction does not replace any legally required child-protection or age-assurance measures. Notify us of underage use. Access checks and HTTPS are required, but no system is guaranteed secure. Report lost ownership keys or suspected unauthorized access to the operator.
