Agreement and eligibility

These draft terms cover Tickster’s instrument, artist pages, live/saved performances, and community features. Publishing, commenting, and creating an artist account require acceptance of the current terms and confirmation that you are at least 18. If you do not agree, use only features that do not require acceptance or stop using the service. A separate privacy choice does not constitute agreement to these terms.

Your account and content

You are responsible for protecting the edit key remembered in your browser. Tickster currently does not provide a cross-device password login or guaranteed account recovery. Choose a unique username, and do not impersonate others. You retain ownership of your original music, projects, images, and other content.

Permission to operate the service

For content you choose to publish or stream, you grant Tickster a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, display, and perform that content solely to operate and provide the requested service, including public project playback. You must have rights to the music and images you upload, and permission for personal information you publish. This does not transfer ownership, authorize uses outside the remix permission below, or grant an AI-training license. Publicly downloadable JSON can be copied by others; removal cannot undo copies already obtained.

Publishing and remix permission

For musical performances and projects you publish or stream after accepting Terms version 2026-09-30-remix-1, you retain ownership and grant Tickster users a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to copy the project into Tickster, adapt its music, sequences and sound settings, and publish or perform resulting remixes on Tickster. This includes MP3 audio uploaded under this version when used in those performances. Remixes may receive voluntary artist donations on Tickster; this permission does not authorize off-site distribution, sales, advertising use, or licensing to third parties. Private backups, biographies, avatars, background pictures and other nonmusical personal content are excluded.

You must own or have permission covering both the composition and any recordings or samples, including this remix permission. Uploading someone else’s work cannot give rights you do not have. Remixes must identify the source artist, title and performance link where available, preserve source credit through further remixes, and identify the new artist’s changes. You may own your original contributions, but cannot claim ownership of the source work or imply its creator endorses you. Small changes to pitch, tempo, notes, timing, sound settings, names or metadata do not remove these obligations. Presenting another artist’s performance as wholly your own, stripping credit, or disguising copying to evade review is prohibited.

This permission applies only to content published under this version; accepting revised terms does not automatically license earlier performances. Earlier content requires separate permission or republication by its rights holder under these terms. Removing source content ends permission to create new remixes from it through Tickster. Already lawfully created and credited remixes may remain under this permission, subject to copyright claims, legal requirements and the service rules. This provision does not limit statutory exceptions or nonwaivable rights.

Similarity review

We plan to introduce a similarity scanner to help identify related performances, including copies altered by small changes. It is not currently implemented. A similarity flag is a review signal, not proof of copying or infringement: common chords, rhythms, presets and licensed samples can match. If introduced, moderation will consider permission, attribution, shared source material and the artist’s explanation. Artists may report disputed attribution or ask for human review using the Community and copyright contact. No fixed percentage of changes guarantees a work is independent.

MP3 uploads and shared samples

Upload only MP3 audio you own or have permission to publish and stream. Uploaded audio is publicly playable through its link. Choosing to share a clip of 20 seconds or less grants other Tickster artists a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to use it in performances on Tickster, including saved performances. Listing a short clip in the shared sample library is optional; the publishing remix permission above still applies to musical content published under the revised terms. Removing a clip from a table does not delete its uploaded file; contact the operator for removal. Existing third-party copies cannot be recalled.

Community rules

No illegal content, copyright infringement, harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual exploitation, doxxing, fraud, malicious files, or attempts to access someone else’s account. No spam or impersonation. Battles are invitations and require acceptance. See Community and copyright for reports. We may remove or restrict content/accounts to address violations, safety, legal requirements, or service security, and will provide an explanation and review path when appropriate.

Donations

Artist donations go directly through the artist’s PayPal link: 100% directly to the artist, with 0% taken by Tickster. PayPal processing fees may apply. Donations supporting the site are separate and optional. Donations are not purchases of content, ownership rights, or promised rewards unless separately agreed. Tickster does not promise tax deductibility. Questions about a payment, refund, or dispute should be raised with its recipient and PayPal; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Projects, storage, and availability

Saved performances are playable JSON projects, with optional MP3 assets, not complete recordings of every live change. Backups help recover work but are not guaranteed permanent storage. Keep your own exports. Features can change or be interrupted; we do not promise continuous availability or specific musical results. Where law permits, the service is provided as available. Nothing excludes liability, warranties, or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Removal, changes, and disputes

You may stop using the service, remove supported uploads, and request account/data removal through Your data. Legal exceptions and third-party copies may affect complete erasure. Material changes to these terms will be identified and acceptance requested for affected account features. Contact the operator first about a dispute. Governing-law and forum provisions require operator-specific legal review; these terms do not impose arbitration or waive mandatory protections.
